About the Banjo
The banjo is a stringed musical instrument that is believed to have originated in West Africa and was brought to the Americas by enslaved Africans. The banjo's popularity grew in the 19th century in the United States, particularly in the minstrel shows that were popular at the time. The banjo's distinctive sound became an important part of genres such as bluegrass, folk, and country music. Today, the banjo continues to be a popular instrument, played by musicians all over the world and loved for its unique sound and versatility.
