For those who have limited experience learning fiddle or another lead instrument by ear, it can really be a challenge to face a new way of learning and playing. Perhaps you're used to reading from music, or you play by ear but find it difficult to pick up new tunes. This gets easier over time, but how do you get started? We’ll go through a series of exercises designed to help strengthen your ears over time, and improve your ability to learn tunes on the fly. No experience necessary, all instruments welcome.

How do I participate?

Some workshops are free, but most workshops are members only.
Signup for a membership and get access to all past and future workshops and video lessons.

Around 10 minutes before the workshop starts, a big orange 'Join zoom meeting' button will appear underneath the countdown clock. You can click that button to join the Zoom workshop.

You will be put in a waiting room and the host will let you in.

If you haven't downloaded Zoom you will be prompted to do so.

  • Post in the chat if you have any questions
    • The host/teacher can then choose when to address questions that come up
